MESSAGE TO HTNZ MEMBERS
Planning is well underway for the NZ Society for Surgery of the Hand Meeting 2026, to be held at the Tākina Conference Centre, Wellington on Saturday 17th October and Sunday 18th October 2026.
This meeting brings together members of the NZ Society for Surgery of the Hand, NZ Association of Plastic Surgeons and Hand Therapy New Zealand and the theme for this meeting is: Innovation and Collaboration.
We have secured the following guest speakers for this meeting:

Professor Eugene Ek, an academic orthopaedic hand and upper extremity surgeon from Melbourne, specialising in arthroscopic and complex reconstructive surgery of the hand, elbow, and shoulder

Associate Professor David McCombe, a Melbourne-based Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon who graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1990

Alison Taylor, a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) since 1996, Kinesio Instructor since 2011, and an advanced NDT certified upper extremity specialist
A Call for Abstracts is currently open, a programme outline is on the conference website, and accommodation rates have been negotiated with hotels close to Tākina, full details are available on the conference website.
