Hands On Rehab

Whangārei

31/01/2026   Are you or do you want to be a Hand Therapist?
Location: Whangārei
Job Type: Permanent | Employee| Part-time

Looking for your next step in musculoskeletal physio, with a clear pathway into hand therapy and a team that will genuinely support you to grow?

At Hands On Rehabilitation, hand therapy is our purpose.
We help people get back to life, work, sport, and play, and we are proud of the outcomes we achieve through collaborative, patient-centred care.

We're looking for a musculoskeletal physiotherapist who's keen to extend their skills in the management of hand, wrist, and elbow injuries. You do not need to be a qualified hand therapist already. If you're motivated, curious, and ready to learn, we will train you.

Why Whangārei?

Great lifestyle. Great climate. Less commute, more living.
If you're wanting a role where you can grow professionally and still have time for being active, connecting with people, and enjoying where you live, Whangārei delivers.

What you'll be doing:

  • Delivering high-quality assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for hand, wrist and elbow conditions (with support from our team as you build confidence)
  • Learning splinting and upper limb rehab pathways, with hands-on supervision and mentoring
  • Working in a values-led, well-resourced clinic with strong referral pathways
  • Collaborating closely with hand surgeons, GPs, referrers, and our wider Hands On Rehabilitation team
  • Participating in regular professional development, education, and case discussions

What you'll bring:

  • Registered Physiotherapist with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
  • Musculoskeletal foundation and a strong interest in upper limb rehab
  • Great communication skills and a team-first approach
  • A commitment to providing exceptional patient care
  • New graduates are welcome, if you're keen and ready to learn

What we offer:

  • A supported training pathway into hand therapy
  • Postgraduate study support, including AUT papers covered
  • Regular supervision, mentoring and clinical development time
  • Flexible employment or contracting models
  • Competitive remuneration package
  • An admin and leadership team that has your back
  • The benefit of being part of a bigger group with experienced hand therapists and shared resources
  • Close working relationships with surgeons and an excellent learning environment

Whether you're after a fresh start, a new clinical challenge, or a place where your development is taken seriously, we'd love to talk.
