Position Title: Registered or Associate Hand Therapist

Location: Bay of Plenty (BOP)

Hours: Full-Time or Part-Time – flexible

 

About the Opportunity

Combine a top-tier clinical career with the coastal lifestyle of the Bay of Plenty. Body in Motion is seeking a dedicated Registered Hand Therapist—or an ambitious Associate Hand Therapist—to join our upper limb service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Specialised Clinical Care: Provide comprehensive assessment, wound care, physical therapy/occupational therapy interventions, and custom thermoplastic orthosis fabrication.
  • Collaborative Practice: Work closely alongside the Hand Therapy Services Manager, and the wider internal and external team to deliver benchmark clinical outcomes.
  • Clinical Operations: Maintain clear, compliant patient records and build strong professional networks across the region.
  • Associate Pathway (if applicable): Actively engage in HTNZ-aligned clinical supervision, complete post-graduate coursework (e.g., AUT papers), and work toward full registration within the required timeline.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Professional Qualification: NZ Registered Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist holding a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
  • Therapy Credentials: Full HTNZ Registration OR Associate Hand Therapist demonstrating readiness to pursue registration.
  • Skills: Demonstrated competence in splinting, clinical reasoning, and collaborative care.
